Each M-F, 7:30am:The Walking Group meets at 7:30am, Monday through Friday (not on rainy days) for an exhilarating 3 ½ mile walk. We chat a lot and find out about new restaurants, upcoming events and recommendations on services. We go on outings from time to time: Newburyport, Rockport and Salem. Join us!

Each Monday, 9:30: Toddler playgroup. Join us for some playtime, conversations, and snacks. We rotate locations each week, please contact Treacey for more info.

20: For the month of May, the Evening Book Club is reading The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling and we will meet at Danielle Emig’s house on Monday, May 20th at 7:30. Please contact Danielle with any questions.

21: Ladies’ bridge will meet on Tuesday, May 21 at Beth Stevenson’s house. Hope to see you there!

22: Daytime Book Group meets on Wednesday, May 22 at the home of Charlene Zhao, We will discuss the Bonesetter’s Daughter by Amy Tan. It is a Chinese story written from the point of view of a first generation American, who learned and researched many stories told by her Chinese Mother. Amy Tan’s other books include The Joyluck Club and The Kitchen God’s Wife. She is an excellent writer and a bit more current than Betty Bao Lord. Check the library for the book and put it on hold. There should be many copies available soon. Please RSVP to Charlene.

June:4: Changing of the Board Potluck Dinner, 7pm at Marlene Mugge’s home.

29: Saturday, June 29 is our End of Year Newcomers and Natives Party at Camp Denison in Georgetown (www.campdenison.com). The party starts at 11am and we will have plenty of food from the grill, drinks, and activities for the kids. There’s a small playground, shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, a beach for swimming or fishing, a picnic area and hiking trails, campfire pits, and we have also reserved the large indoor lodge. There are cabins available to rent overnight for camping if anyone is interested. Volunteers are needed, please contact Emily Serino if you are able to help with setup, clean up, or shopping/cooking.
